In this talk, questions around how innovation can be encouraged within particular areas will be raised. Threads spun from the project Fostering Innovation Ecosystems in Rural areas will be woven to attempt to give practical answers to the question: What can we do to encourage innovation in our local communities?
Arnar Sigurðsson is an entrepreneur who works on research and development on the relationship between creativity and community. Arnar works within the social laboratory East of Moon (www.eastofmoon.com). At the moment Arnar has taken on developing and leading hafnar.haus, a workspace and a community of around 250 artists, innovators and other creators in down-town Reykjavík.
