Lunch Lecture: Westfjords potential for macroalgea cultivation

For the Lunch Lecture on Friday, Magnús Bjarnason will explore the potential and significance of seaweed cultivation in the Westfjords

The talk will cover why the Westfjords should consider seaweed cultivation, what advantages the region has for marine cultivation, why seaweed is receiving so much attention, and finally, the challenges involved in starting seaweed farming.

Magnús was born and raised in Ísafjörður. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Iceland and a master's degree from Gothenburg. He works as a project manager in innovation and investment and has a background in the fishing industry and public administration.
