Lessons from Community Theatre – Building Community and Finding Joy
Dóra Hlín Gísladóttir and Tinna Ólafsdóttir share their experiences working with the community theatre group Litli leikklúbburinn in Ísafjörður, the lessons they have learned, and what might be the most important aspects of the club’s work.
Dóra Hlín Gísladóttir is a chemical engineer and serves as the Vice President of Product Development at Kerecis. She has been a board member of Litli leikklúbburinn since 2022. Within the club, Dóra has worked as an assistant director, actress, and in costume design, in addition to taking on all the various tasks that come with being a board member.
Tinna Ólafsdóttir holds a bachelor's degree in anthropology and a master’s degree in journalism. She works as the communications officer for Ísafjarðarbær. Tinna has been a board member of Litli leikklúbburinn since 2019 and has taken on roles as a director, been part of the orchestra, and costume designer for the club.
