The theme is to discuss the main benefits and limitations of using Generative AI (GenAI) for students and teachers within the school community. The central theme is derived from a chapter authored by the writer, published by Libri at the end of 2024. There have been significant discussions within the community regarding the use of artificial intelligence, including various ethical challenges and issues of integrity in work, learning, research, and teaching. With the rapid advancement of technology, it is crucial to explore the roles and possibilities that the use of artificial intelligence can offer us.

Helena Sigurðardóttir from Ísafjörður is an Educational Developer and Instructional Designer at the University of Akureyri, specialising in digital teaching methods and instructional design.
With over twenty years of experience, she specialises in training faculty on pedagogical skills and integrating digital tools. She is also an expert in implementing digital competencies to enhance student engagement in higher education. Additionally, she leads international projects and collaborates with global partners to advance educational technology.
Helena is committed to discovering innovative educational solutions and contributing to the academic community. Her goal is to improve digital competencies and introduce new teaching technologies to help educators adapt to modern educational environments.
