Lunch lecture: Children's rights to healthcare

On November 29th, during the lunch lecture, Sif Huld Albertsdóttir will discuss children's rights to healthcare, focusing on children with cleft lip and/or palate, as well as children living in rural areas who must travel long distances to access specialized services. She emphasizes the importance of ensuring equal access to healthcare for all children, regardless of their place of residence or financial situation.

Sif Huld Albertsdóttir was born in Reykjavík but grew up in Hnífsdalur. At the age of 14, she moved to Ísafjörður and, apart from a brief period in Reykjavík, has lived there ever since. Sif is the Deputy Managing Director of Sjótækni. She is a social educator with a master’s degree in leadership and management. She has four sons, one of whom has a chronic illness. Sif also serves as the Chairperson of Breið Bros, an advocacy organization for children with cleft lip and/or palate and their families. She has extensive experience with the health insurance system, both as the mother of a chronically ill child and as a mother living in a rural area. She is an advocate for equal healthcare rights for all children.
