Lunch lecture: How the Energy transition will affect harbours in Arctic Regions

On October 11th, during the lunch lecture, Þorsteinn Másson will deliver a presentation on "How the Energy transition will affect harbours in Arctic Regions"

The energy transition is gaining momentum as green technologies become cheaper, more reliable, and accessible. This shift will significantly impact Arctic coastal communities that depend on transportation and maritime activities. Thorsteinn’s presentation will explore these effects and discuss how coastal communities can prepare for and capitalize on this move towards sustainable energy.

Þorsteinn holds a degree in Marine Engineering and a B.Sc. in Business from the University of Akureyri. He has a background in fisheries and fish farming and has served as the Managing Director of Blami for the past three years.

The presentation will take place in the cafeteria at the University Centre of the Westfjords and will start at 12:10. The presentation will also be streamed via a Zoom link, which can be found here: https://eu01web.zoom.us/j/69947471079
